Galerie Cécile Fakhoury is pleased to announce "Eden", the solo exhibition of the French-Algerian artist Dalila Dalléas Bouzar in her Parisian showroom, from February 19th to February 26th 2021.
The works in the "Eden" exhibition continue and amplify the research that was presented in Abidjan in early 2020 in the exhibition "Innocente", where the artist unveiled a series of works representing, among others, the different ages of women.
In the series of paintings Sorcières as in the monumental Adama tapestry, Dalila Dalléas Bouzar places women's bodies at the centre of a history of transmission, knowledge, power and representation.
While at the beginning of this year Dalila Dalléas Bouzar's work will be presented in various institutions in France, Galerie Cécile Fakhoury wishes to weave links around her extremely rich work, at the intersection of very intimate and current research, from the heritage of Algerian memory and the memory of women, to the representation of minorities in art and the Western psyche.
As part of the exhibition the gallery will host the launch of the publication "Innocente" and a performance by the artist.
