Congratulations to the artist Binta Diaw, who wins the First Prize of the Pujade-Lauraine Prize for its first edition.
Created in 2022, the Pujade-Lauraine - Carta Bianca Prize will support each year eight artists chosen by a committee of eight French-Italian experts.
Binta Diaw was awarded the First Prize in this first edition, presented by Anissa Touati, French independent curator. In her words, Binta Diaw's work highlights "the importance of ancestors, traditions, rituals, bodies, stories and voices that have been invisible to those who have written history.
Binta Diaw currently has a solo exhibition 'Toolu Xeer' at Galerie Cécile Fakhoury in Dakar and is also participating in the Berlin Biennale 2022.
