From one work to the next, Elladj plunges the viewer into a pictorial narrative guided by dreams, where memories and symbols intermingle. Working with experimentation and documentation, he focuses on matrimonial and symbolic images as well as Afro-Caribbean spiritualities. The artist focuses on daily life, mythologies, iconography, beliefs and his spiritual and cultural heritage.
D'un songe à l'autre explores Édouard Glissant's notion of Identity-Relationship through a series of six portraits. Evoking a plural identity, Elladj Lincy Deloumeaux attempts to analyze, deconstruct and capture the fragments and connecting vessels of these identities. Through her encounters and travels, the artist gives us in her works different levels of reading, both social and historical.
