DIFFRACTIONS HUMAINE @ PAC - LE SUQUET DES ARTISTES: SERIGNE IBRAHIMA DIEYE

Serigne Ibrahima Dieye is part of the young generation of painters from the National School of Arts in Dakar. The characters in his paintings and installations are visual allegories of the ills that tear apart contemporary societies: its myths of success and its curses; its violence and its creative vivacity; its popular stories and its forgotten territories. He observes his environment and is interested in the chaos that surrounds him. Thus, from his works emerge mysterious signs and hybrid animals as in fables.  Through a strong plastic gesture, the artist intends to denounce this systemic violence while trying to make everyone think about their share of responsibility and the role they can choose to take - or not - in this world.
