THE PERFORMANCE
For the next edition of Nuit Blanche at the Conciergerie, discover the demonstration that will bring together the work of Assoukrou Aké, Vincent Cardoso and Bastien David.
Music will play a fundamental role in this multidisciplinary artistic proposal, with a performance of the Métallophone, a new musical instrument imagined by composer Bastien David, made up of 216 steel blades on a circular keyboard.
The sound of the metallophone will interact directly with the Gothic architecture of the Salle des Gens d'Armes at the Conciergerie, creating a pathway between the different works under its cross vaults.
From minimal - almost indescribable - notes to amplified sculptures and organic curves, the Mémoire de l'écho project is a vibrant, visual and collective journey.
AN ENSEMBLE OF SCULPTURES
The singular sensation of listening to notes played extremely close together is one of almost aquatic movement, a liquid sound echoing the sculptures of artist Vincent Cardoso, one of which, Main, represents a fluid flowing between fingers.
The interplay of scale and material also responds to Assoukrou Aké's installation Sinueux Acier et Voiles Blanches, whose steel tubes, though rigid and industrial, are transformed into representations of organic nature, symbolizing our ability to find harmony between the constructed and natural worlds.
Mémoire de l'écho is supported by the Fondation Loo& Lou pour l'Art contemporain, under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg, and in partnership with the Casa de Vélazquez, Académie de France in Madrid.
