"The dead still have words to say and work to do. By delegation, of course, but they are present, for they are well represented."
- Vinciane Despret, Les morts à l'œuvre

How do the deceased persist, across time, in questioning us? The voices of the dead hold a central place in contemporary thought-whether artistic, literary, theatrical, or philosophical-particularly among artists who engage with diasporic, transcultural, or minority identities. Anchored in the concept of hauntology, a term coined by philosopher Jacques Derrida in Specters of Marx, this project presents works or interventions that carry within them voices from the past. Through these voices, the irreconcilable contradictions we inherit are expressed-from the mirages of modernity to the ashes of the colonial continuum. If we exist only within a troubled and complex present, practices of ancestry and genealogy teach us how to construct affective and intellectual lineages across time, and how to engage in dialogue with the specters that surround us.
