« La Grande Famille » Arts et mémoire(s) @ Chapelle des Pénitents blancs: François-Xavier Gbré

18 July - 11 October 2025

The Heritage Department of the city of Sarlat, in collaboration with Olivier Crouzel and the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA, presents an exhibition exploring the notion of the archive — understood here in its broadest sense, from memory to inventory, including the recording of a given moment, inevitably fleeting. Many artists today incorporate documents into their work, whether as the result of research or as traces of past actions, placing them in new and unexpected contexts.

The exhibition is built around a new work by Olivier Crouzel, created in collaboration with the La Boétie middle school in Sarlat. This piece will be shown alongside works from the collections of the Frac and the Sarlat Museum. The project is part of a series of exhibitions dedicated to young audiences, coordinated by the Frac throughout the region.

Exhibited artists: Bertille BAK, Pauline BASTARD, Dominique BLAIS, Christian BOLTANSKI, Ulla von BRANDENBURG, François-Xavier GBRÉ, Laurent KROPF, Rainier LERICOLAIS, Gosette LUBONDO, Dalila MAHDJOUB, Laurent MONTARON, MORVARID K, Claude NORI, Dennis OPPENHEIM, Max PAM, Christian PATTERSON, Roman SIGNER, Adrianna WALLIS.
