Lancement : 'Lova' @ Fondation H - Paris : François-Xavier Gbré

Galerie Cécile Fakhoury is pleased to announce the launch of Lova, a publication by Franco-Ivorian artist François-Xavier Gbré, on Tuesday, September 9, from 6 pm at Fondation H’s Paris space (24 rue Geoffroy l’Asnier, 75004), in the presence of the artist.

This book is the culmination of an artistic and documentary project developed in dialogue between the artist and Fondation H since 2022, starting with François-Xavier Gbré's first residency in Antananarivo and continuing through his exhibition Lova [Heritage] in April 2023 in the Malagasy capital, leading up to the release of this book-object in April 2026.

In this publication by Fondation H, François-Xavier Gbré presents 100 photographs taken in Antananarivo in 2022 and 2024, offering an intimate exploration of the Malagasy capital. His images capture its architecture, the lingering traces of its colonial past, and the contemporary transformations shaping its urban landscape. They reveal the layered history and social fabric of this city of twelve hills, caught between echoes of the past and the dynamics of the present.
