Sculptures by Jems Robert Koko Bi and drawings by Ouattara Watts are presented within the exhibition “The Juices of Time’ at the Ivory Coast Pavillon of the 57th Venice Biennale.
Having been a witness and protagonist of the terrorist attack in Grand Bassam on 2016, 13th March in Ivory Coast, with these sculptures Jems Robert Koko Bi remembers his horror experience.The works in warm colors of Ouattara Watts are like a gesture: a wide gesture which serves the allegory of the knowledge to create research environments, without having no proof of the sense of the truth.
By bringing back their own awareness of the immediate space and time, these artists reveal their intimate comments of the human condition truth.
