Bolol, 2025 @ Photoforum Pasquart, Bienne, Suisse : Eva Diallo
Bolol presents a project about the overlooked reality of migration. The exhibition focuses on the journey itself, its duration, distances, and fragile traces, rather than on images of arrival. Through poetic and documentary fragments, Eva Diallo invites visitors into a space of attention, memory, and material reflection.
Eva Diallo (*1996) trained at the Centre d’enseignement professionnel de Vevey. She works with photography and extends her practice to video and installation. Her work brings together fragments, anecdotes, and archival material to form sensitive visual narratives. Rather than contributing to the rapid circulation of images around topical subjects, she pursues a poetic process of deciphering that opens multiple layers of experience.
Julie Bonzon (*1991) is an art historian, photography curator, and lecturer. Since 2015, she has developed research and exhibition projects on decolonial representation and contemporary lens-based practices, with a focus on African contexts. Her research for Bolol, 2025 was supported by a START grant from Pro Helvetia. In 2025, she joined the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography as an Associate Curator and teaches at the University of Zurich.
The exhibition is made possible thanks to the generous support of Pro Helvetia Johannesburg and Pro Helvetia Kulturstiftung Schweiz. Photoforum Pasquart is supported by the City of Biel, the Canton of Bern, and the Stiftung für Kunst, Geschichte und Kultur.
