Curated by professor Jean Michel Massing and Christine Blachère Allain Launay, the exhibition Kaleidoscope deals essentially with the two African capitals, Dakar and Kinshasa.

Dakar in Senegal, a homogeneous port city which retains its traditions, and Kinshasa in the DRC, a more recent city with a strong ethnic diversity, looking to the future in a search for modernity.

Kaleidoscope offers a wide range, representative of the production of mainly Senegalese and Congolese artists. Street art, ambient soundtrack, music models, paintings, photographs will plunge visitors to the art centre in the heart of the atmosphere of these two capitals, reflecting the kaleidoscopic and multi-sensory experience of cities by artists.

Dakar and Kinshasa show the urban explosion in Africa, that is changing spaces and mentalities.

The city has thus entered the theme of contemporary creation; it is the place of all the possibilities, all waking dreams. The city is transforming, expanding, relaxing. The city is in perpetual motion.

Through their works, artists explore, probe, show their city, the city, and share their vision with us.
