As part of Paris+ Hors les Murs at the Tuileries, Roméo Mivekannin proposes Les Noces, a monumental installation composed of several faces, like so many break-ins by the artist in spaces where he is not expected, in order to thwart the place that has been assigned to him.
A few dozen meters from the Louvre, Roméo Mivekannin chooses to reinterpret, in real dimensions, the iconic work of the Wedding of Cana by Veronese. Through his reinterpretation, the artist reveals the shadows of the original work and highlights the injustices that inhabit the scene, a distorted image of our contemporary world. On the reverse side of this work, an assemblage of abstract canvases, soaked in voodoo elixir baths, remind us of the double meaning of all representation.
