The Franco-Ivorian photographer François-Xavier Gbré has been invited for a residency organized in three stages between January and April 2023. It is written in the line of exhibitions in and outside the walls built by the Foundation H since 2019 in Antananarivo. This project stems from the Fondation H's desire to rehabilitate the historical heritage of downtown Antananarivo and the understanding of the context in which its new building is set.
Echoing François-Xavier Gbré's practice, a project focused on the architectural heritage of downtown Antananarivo was built over the long term with Fondation H. It began with periods of residency in Antananarivo, a time for research and first images.
The restitution will take place on April 26, 2023 (over a period of 2 weeks) in an unoccupied building in Isoraka, near the new Fondation H. The exhibition will be open to the public and totally free. A continuation of this project is taking shape through a common will of writing and publishing between the photographer and the Foundation H.
