2023 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death, and the year will be dedicated to celebrating his work through some fifty exhibitions and events, as well as scientific and educational projects, in Europe and the United States.

To conclude this year of celebration, the Musée national Picasso-Paris is organizing, in partnership with UNESCO, a major symposium on December 7 and 8, 2023 in Paris.

The symposium will be held at the Maison de l'UNESCO, in the historic building that houses the headquarters of the International Organization for the Defense of Peace in Education, Science and Culture, whose architects commissioned Picasso to create a large-scale mural inaugurated in 1958: La Chute d'Icare (The Fall of Icarus).

During the two days of meetings, round-table discussions, lectures, events and exhibition visits, the symposium will bring together all the Celebration's partners - institutions, curators, researchers and artists - to discuss the topics covered by the event.
