Retour sur / Art X Lagos 2019: Group Show - Kassou Seydou, Aboudia, Jems Koko Bi

From 1st to 3rd November 2019, Galerie Cécile Fakhoury had the pleasure to participate in the 2019 edition of the Art X Lagos Contemporary Art Fair. 

The gallery presented the recent works of three artists: Aboudia, Jems Koko Bi and Kassou Seydou, creating a visual dialogue between them, their different cultures, geographies and aesthetics. These three artists share a common interest in the human condition and how to define one's life in an era of blurred identities and fragmented histories.

The works presented dialogue in their formats and the richness of their techniques: Aboudia's lively and urgent drawings dialogue with the impassive faces of Jems Koko Bi's wood carvings, and the elaborate compositions of Kassou Seydou's canvases shelter a chiseled setting, a landscape in which these figures can evolve.
