At the invitation of the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA, BAM projects presents the works created by 23 winning artists from the call for projects in the form of a tour of 6 châteaux in the Margaux appellation.

25 winners designated at the end of the call for projects launched in April 2020 by the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA to support artists in the face of the crisis linked to the pandemic.
The question of gesture, the one that establishes contact with everything outside oneself, this necessity as a human being endowed with sensitivity, permeates each of the intentions of the winning artists of the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA "call for projects" launched in 2020.

Whether it be action or words, and without restricting its purpose to being merely significant, making a gesture is tantamount to creating a connection, an exchange. A definition that resonates strangely today, when we are enjoined to respect barrier gestures and to limit our interactions with the outside environment.

In each castle there is a "gesture" highlighted by one or more works. Each gesture resonates with the identity of the place, its history, its architecture, its environment or its way of life and functioning. Each stage of the journey can be read as a chapter in a common narrative, which we discover as we wander along, or as a short story in its own right, which invites us to reread the present world with a new focus.

The movements in the Margaux area are essentially linked to the world of wine, to the work of the vines and to wine tourism, on which the influence of Bordeaux is largely based, both in France and abroad. This tour invites you to experience this rural area on the outskirts of Bordeaux in a different way, as an escape into an exceptional natural environment.
