Assoukrou Aké, Précis d’anatomie et d’une dissection is the first monograph dedicated to the artist. Produced with the support of the Casa de Velázquez, it offers an immersive exploration of his artistic universe through the lens of his printmaking practice. Contributions by Edem Allado, Oulimata Gueye, Smaïl Kanouté, and Ludovic Delalande each provide a distinct perspective on the artist’s work, uncovering and revealing the underlying dimensions of his creative process. Blending interviews, critical essays, and poetic writing, these texts illuminate the close relationship between Assoukrou’s printmaking practice and his personal history, while exploring the themes of memory, politics, and sensibility that run throughout his work.
