Galerie Cécile Fakhoury is pleased to announce its participation in the 7th edition of Art X Lagos, which takes place from 4 to 6 November 2022.
The Galerie Cécile Fakhoury is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, between Abidjan (2012), Dakar (2018) and Paris (2021). This anniversary is an opportunity for the gallery to highlight its historical artists such as Vincent Michéa, contemporary talents such as Roméo Mivekannin as well as a new guard of young artists such as Elladj Lincy Deloumeaux, Carl-Edouard Keïta and Rachel Marsil.
For Art x Lagos, the Cécile Fakhoury gallery has chosen a selection of works based on "architectures of life". Contemporary figures (Elladj Lincy Deloumeaux, Rachel Marsil) dialogue with architectures of a modern and disappearing West Africa (Vincent Michéa) against the background of a search for identity and a dialogue with art history (Carl-Edouard Keïta and Roméo Mivekannin). For these five artists, human or architectural subjects are a pretext for questioning a contemporary state of affairs that is undoubtedly in dialogue with the past and at the crossroads of collective and personal histories.
