On the occasion of the international art fair in New York, The Armory Show, Galerie Cécile Fakhoury celebrates, through a collective presentation of artists Jess Atieno, François-Xavier Gbré, Jems Koko Bi, Carl-Edouard Keïta, Souleymane Keïta, Marie-Claire Messouma Manlanbien, Roméo Mivekannin, Kambui Olujimi, Sadikou Oukpedjo, Kassou Seydou, Ouattara Watts, the links between the African and American art scenes, through the practices of unique artists who transcend geographical boundaries. 

These artists, who are among the most important on the contemporary scene in Africa and the Diaspora, are part of an ongoing dialogue on both sides of the Atlantic. By presenting the works of Senegalese painter Souleymane Keita (1947-2014), who lived in New York in the 80s, for the first time at a fair, the gallery is part of a movement to bring African modernism back into the international spotlight.
