This painting is the first of a new series of works in which the figure of the cat appears, the new protagonist of Serigne Ibrahima Dieye's « Contes Noirs » (Black Tales). Returning to the aesthetics of his first paintings, works with a white background on which are mixed collages of materials, pen drawings, pastel and paint, Dieye abandons the wild beasts of the early days to focus on animals that are closer to us, the cat and the mouse, symbols of a violence increasingly anchored in our daily lives.
