Galerie Cécile Fakhoury is pleased to participate in Art Paris Art Fair 2017 from March 30th to April 2nd, 2017 at Grand Palais.
For its first participation, the gallery proposes an exhibition that brings together paintings by Dalila Dalléas Bouzar, sculptures by Jems Robert Koko Bi and drawings by Sadikou Oukpedjo.
Forced transformations marked by history and territorial changes link the work of the three artists presented by Galerie Cécile Fakhoury. Dalila Dalléas Bouzar proposes a re-reading of history from snapshots of women photographed without their veil during Algeria’s dark hours; a reinvention glorified by these faces from another time. Jems Koko Bi’s silhouettes freeze changing states in raw or partially carbonized lumber. They come from a forgotten part of the world, which the artist invites us to visit and reinvent. The anthropomorphic figures created by Sadikou Oukpedjo form an archive of the human consciousness crossed by the question of its primitive origin approaching an uncertain future.
